 Using Pidgin-libnotify on Ubuntu, (XMPP) MUC messages are not handled by
 the 'new messages' check. I only get the sound I've set in the preferences
 > sounds tab. Also, the tray icon does not show any sign that messages
 have been received. Often times this causes me to miss messages in the
 chatroom completely, which makes the MUC functionality unusable for my
 situation.

 Note: I do mean the pidgin tray icon, not the unity one, by setting the
 tray whitelist to 'all'.
