Comment (by kaie):

 Initial implementation attempt.

 It doesn't use the configured proxy server yet, but always uses the direct
 network connection.
 (As a result, it will fail if using a proxy server is required for
 connectivity.)

 The OCSP cache built into NSS will automatically be used (in-memory only,
 will be empty on application startup.)
