 The issue that triggered the change was a security issue. Not doing what
 pidgin is now doing has security implications. It is unfortunate that more
 clients are apparently not checking this in these cases such that servers
 could get this wrong.

 Could you get the debug log output from this problem with iChat? It would
 help to know if the cases already covered will cover it or whether it has
 a different manifestation of this issue.
