 Ugh, sorry I can't the mercurial. This has already been rolled back with
 change 37218:7fb8821cba5f and it just hasn't been merged into the
 release-2.x.y branch. Needs to be merged into it posthaste, since the bug
 itself was merged into the release-2.x.y branch and is ...pretty awful.
