 I just tested this by transferring ~4.5 GB of random data[1] from Pidgin
 2.10.11 on OpenBSD to Pidgin 3.0 on Ubuntu. Pidgin 3.0 showed exactly
 twice the actual bandwidth (confirmed with `ifstat`) while Pidgin 2.10.11
 had it right.

 I'm adding this to my to-do list.

 [1] The large file size was used to also test the size limitations.
