 Okay I've been running Pidgin with --debug.  What seems to happen is, when
 I move my laptop from my docking bay at my desk and then wake it up away
 from the docking bay, Pidgin hangs.  There is nothing in the log around
 this event.  The change in monitor / window configuration seems to be
 responsible.

 What's weird is that it hangs in such a way that it cannot be killed.  I
 wouldn't mind having to restart it - although ideally it would adapt to
 changing monitor/window configurations - but having to reboot to get it
 back is not great.
