Comment:

 Are there any other differences between the two different chat rooms that
 can be aliased and cannot be, like are they on different conference
 servers?  Are both chat rooms saved on the buddy list?

 Are there any error messages in the debug log (Help->Debug Window) when
 you alias both chats?
