#17193: Unable to view logs after protocol removal
------------------------+------------------------------
Reporter: ian_hawdon | Owner:
Type: defect | Status: new
Milestone: 2.12.1 | Component: pidgin (gtk)
Version: 2.12.0 | Keywords: logs, msn, linux
------------------------+------------------------------
Since upgrading to Pidgin 2.12.0, I've been unable to view conversation
logs on old MSN accounts. The account is still showing as Unknown (as
documented), but attempt to view logs for old MSN users results in a "No
logs were found" message in the application, though Pidgin is still auto
filling the user correctly and detecting which Unknown account it belongs
to. The logs still exist in the .purple/logs directory.
I've only tested this with MSN logs, I presume the same is true for the
other protocols removed in this release.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable logging on an MSN account
2. Talk to someone
3. Upgrade to 2.12.0
4. In the buddies list, go to Buddies -> View User Log
5. Find the user for the MSN account
6. Click OK
