 I've noticed this same problem with version 2.13.0 . I keep getting
 Hangouts users reported as Invisible by Pidgin when they're clearly not
 actually invisible in Hangouts.

 It seems to be marking idle Hangouts users as Invisible rather than Idle.
 At the time that I took this screenshot:

 ...the top three Hangouts users were all idle and showing in Pidgin as
 Invisible. I've talked with all three of them and they've made no changes
 to their Hangouts. Two of them are no longer idle... and no longer marked
 as Invisible.
