intltool-update adding "c-format" all over the place

Hi,

I'm working on the source patch to pluralize a few strings that should
be marked as plural, When I try to test my changes on my translation,
I run
XGETTEXT_ARGS="--no-location" intltool-update lt
It works and I can translate the new plural strings just fine, however
for some reason it adds a lot of c-format to the obviously
non-c-format strings, here is an excerpt from diff:
