question concerning string "You can add a buddy to this list by right-clicking on them and selecting \"%s\""

In #: ../libpurple/protocols/oscar/visibility.c:101 we find this sentence:  
"You can add a buddy to this list by right-clicking on them and selecting  
\"%s\""

Should the plural form "buddies" be used since "them" appears later in the  
sentence?

Please advise.
