Compile time error when trying to build on win32

So I'm trying to build pidgin on Windows using the instructions on 
http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/BuildingWinPidgin.

while in the directory 
PIDGIN_DEV\pidgin-mtn\libpurple\plugins\perl\common, it comes up with 
the following error,

Account.c: In function `boot_Purple__Account':
Account.c:1430: error: `PL_unitcheckav' undeclared (first use in this 
function)

I was using the manual instructions, then tried with the BEF which ended 
giving me the same error.

Any thoughts?
