UI suggestions

This sounds evil, but would it make any sense to turn on the rules hint
if the treeview expands beyond a certain width (dynamically)?

I strongly dislike the appearance alternating colors and they do not
have any useful function at the size I keep the buddy list window.
However, for a really large window, it clearly makes sense to set the
treeview to this mode.  Though, I can't understand why anyone would make
their buddy list window that wide.
