Where did my buddy go

When you put your mouse cursor over a contact, and hold down the left
mouse button, then move the mouse somewhere, anywhere, you should see
a 'floating' rectangle if that person's name and an icon. Underneath
this floating rectangle, pidgin will select a drop area. Depending on
where your currently pointing (don't release the left buton yet), it
will highlight a line between items with a black line, or an item
itself by boxing it in a dotted grey line. Still holding the left
mouse button down, move the cursor up until the grey group header,
"Buddies" for instance, is enclosed in a grey rectangle, underneath
your floating rectangle. Then release the left mouse button.
