It sounds like the way you've entered your AIM screen name in the account
editor is invalid.  I'm guessing it has too many spaces, which pushes it over
the 16 character limit.  Try signing off, modifying your account in Pidgin and
removing some spaces.  Please let me know if I'm way wrong,
