Yes, I think "None" is not a valid distribution. Do you know what
version of Ubuntu you're using? I think our PPA only supports 8.04.2
LTS (Hardy Heron), 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope).
Try replace "None" in your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pidgin-ppa.lst with
one of hardy, intrepid or jaunty.
