Pidgin and priviliges

Using an Administrator account shouldn't be necessary.

What is the specific error message?

What does the debug log (http://d.pidgin.im/wiki/TipsForBugReports) say?

Are you sure the cause isn't some sort of firewall that is restricting
the non-Administrator account?
