 Oh! Typing in someone's Alias in that box probably won't work, yes. pidgin
 has no way of knowing whether you really mean that as a buddy name or as
 an alias. I'm not sure that's solvable in a good way, if you want to type
 an alias, use the dropdown. I'm not sure this is a bug anymore, as much as
 just sub-optimal.
