 I've attached another patch (gtkblist-debug-state-cb.patch). Could you
 apply that patch then run and hide/unhide the blist a few times. Also try
 minimizing/restoring the blist a few times.

 For some reason your debug log doesn't show the list_visible pref
 changing, which should be happening in response to events coming to pidgin
 from gtk. So either you're not receiving the events at all when
 hiding/unhiding, or there is some other state flag being set that we are
 not expecting.

 What distribution and version are you running? What is your gtk version?
