 Interestingly, I never saw this with Gaim 2.0.0 beta 5, but then I didn't
 hide or maximize the blist...

 As for the fix, I can live with the current behavior as I don't hide or
 maximize my blist so editing prefs.xml works for me. As long as I can stay
 with my version of gtk+ and run Pidgin, I'm happy. {{{^__^;}}}
