 Honestly, from the perspective of the everyday user, the cause of the
 problem is not at all what's important.  What's important is a quick, easy
 and intuitive way of fixing it.  This obviously is possible because the
 Extended Preferences plugin accomplishes this.  The PROBLEM is that this
 plugin is not included by default.  Not only that, but this is an option
 that should be in the general Preferences section not added on as a
 plugin.  I truly truly believe that this is something extremely simple to
 implement that would have a huge impact on usability.
