 Some additional information: when I open the "New Instant Message" window
 and start typing in a buddy's name whose screenname has lost formatting, I
 see the actual s/n plus the unformatted one as though it were an alias
 (e.g. I see John Smith "johnsmith"). However, I never set an alias on the
 AIM server and blist.xml does not show an alias.
