 I can trigger the formatting removal by clicking "Get Info" to view
 profiles. So far I've only seen it with offline buddies--if I try to view
 a profile, the screenname becomes unformatted (that might make sense, if
 Pidgin can't retrieve the formatting info). If the buddy comes online
 later and I restart Pidgin, sometimes the name goes back to normal, but
 not always (and clicking "Get Info" there is not enough to refresh it
 properly). Also, even if the buddy stays offline, sometimes (but not
 always) the formatting comes back when I restart Pidgin (that part doesn't
 make sense to me, why does it only happen sometimes?).
