 I generally like the idea. But I think it should be a per-conversation
 setting (ie., it should be possible to hide the userlist in some rooms,
 and still show the userlist in some other). For example, 'Enable Sounds'
 is a per-conversation setting, and the setting for each conversation is
 remembered. Something similar can be done for this.

 This can also be done from a plugin. But I think it's small and useful,
 and should be included in pidgin.

 Any thoughts, anyone?
