 Although it seems less ignorable it does work fine, and doesn't appear to
 break anything jabber related. But as you say it sounds rather ominous! I
 think the actual cause may be given from the following lines which appear
 in my Mac's console log:

 I've tried finding out what read(5) error 0 could refer to but to no avail
 - perhaps someone else might have more luck though.

 Sorry I wasn't very clear with my explanation - words are not exactly my
 forte!
