 The problem with presenting a friendlier error message is that we aren't
 in control of that error message. That message is coming from sed which
 appears to be being run by libtool. Neither of which are things we are in
 control of. The error message contains enough information to give you a
 clue that the space might be a problem (the fact that
 stuff/..../liboscar.la isn't a real or valid path for instance). So, if
 anything this is probably a bug in the way libtool handles build
 dependency paths.
