 If we'd wanted Escape to be the default we would have just made it the
 default and not created the current hack that the preference is.
 Personally I objected to the creation of the preference, but GTK+ makes it
 impossible to bind Escape to a menu item with the normal menu binding
 system so it was the preference or manually editing a configuration file.
