Comment:

 Always showing offline buddies for online contacts is a bad idea. I, for
 example, have someone with 10+ accounts, most of which are not online
 simultaneously. For some contacts, I have old accounts (buddies in
 libpurple lingo) that will never be signed on again. These exist to take
 advantage of log contactization; I want to be able to see logs from their
 old, abandoned account along with logs from their latest account.

 Why is this being requested? I see a comment about re-organizing contacts.
 If that's what we're trying to address, I think we should show always
 offline buddies for expanded contacts. Would that work for you?
