 The fact that many window managers make it impossible to configure them in
 a way people want, and some that make it possible make it annoying is a
 problem in the very workflow and design of the window managers, and isn't
 something I feel particularly inclined to work around. Further, the issue
 isn't that a "use Urgent hint" preference would be hard but rather that it
 shouldn't in any way be necessary. Your problem isn't that pidgin is using
 the urgency hint, your problem is that your window manager is interpreting
 that hint in ways you don't want, so it really is a wm configuration issue
 not a pidgin one. Again, applications *should not* play window management
 games, by not setting the hint pidgin loses very real functionality
 whereas by telling your wm you don't care when the pidgin buddy list sets
 the hint you are controlling your environment.
