 I'm not sure you're vertical spacing (2 down to 0) is showing properly.
 Comparing your buddylist buddy icons to mine, I have literally no white
 space between my buddy icons. Perhaps you need to restart pidgin after you
 update your gtkrc-2.0 file and take note of the spacing.
