 Ugh, I apologize for the incorrect information. Can we determine if
 specifying a font is still required and stop doing that if it seems like
 it isn't? Does the official client do this?

 If changing the font in the preferences for outgoing messages didn't
 change the font for MSN then perhaps we don't support setting that for MSN
 in general (which would strike me as rather odd) or perhaps our support
 for it is just broken. I'll leave that up to other people to figure out.
