of my LINUX machines have the issue, but every Windows machine I use I
must do the ipconfing /flushdns. So it's OS related in a way, in that
either the OS has a bug in how it deals with the dns cache, or pidgin is
using the dns cache incorrectly.
I am in a corporate environment with an AD domain and multiple DNS
servers. Some of my servers are reporting 12 hosts for "scs" and some are
reporting 18. I suspect the 12 results I have are mostly dead hosts.
It looks like the DNS server is a confounding issue here.
