 So pidgin works correctly? Whereas the aspell installer fails? What do you
 mean you are "not able to download and install any plugin[s]"? What
 plugins? aspell dictionaries?

 If you download the aspell installer [wiki:"Installing Pidgin
 #IsthereawaytoinstallSpell-checkingsupportAspellmanually" manually] does
 it work correctly or error similarly?
