Comment:

 Yes, I'm having this problem with MSN. I am using Pidgin at work and home,
 but it's irrelevant - if I delete an entry (at work) and restart Pidgin
 (still at work) the problem manifests itself.

 They come back when I restart Pidgin, only.

 I will try upgrading to 2.5.5, but I'm using the standard Ubuntu package
 and it's stuck at 2.5.2
