 @ayanc: Yeah, I know the devs have been hostile to Shared Status support
 in the past... though I don't really understand why since your patch
 implements it nicely '''without''' interfering with XMPP servers that
 don't support it.

 I haven't been able to figure out how to get the tray icon to update...
 there's a public routine pidgin_docklet_update_icon() in
 pidgin/gtkdocklet.c, but it doesn't seem to do what I want.
