 I too am having this issue. Everything worked fine at work today, but when
 I logged on at home I get numerous "Unable to add..." alerts and the buddy
 list is empty.

 Logging on to AIM via AIM Express or Trillian doesn't show the alerts, but
 the buddy list is still empty.
