 gmail account connected.  Are there any other methods of debugging this
 that you can think of?  Is there anything like gdb on windows I can
 install to attach to the pidgin process after it bugs out?  I've got
 access to Visual Studio through my school if need be, and I know how to
 install mingw if that's what pidgin uses to build. (I've looked into the
 process to build pidgin, but that was a long time ago and my memory is
 fuzzy).

 There has to be something unusual about your system - a VPN or wacky
 network driver or something.

 There are versions of `gdb` available for Windows, but I'm afraid at this
 point, they aren't going to be of much use.

 I suspect that when this happens, if you look at the Task Manager, you'll
 see that there are a crazy number of Threads (or possibly really high
 memory usage), can you check that?
