 I won't go into a discussion about duplicity of code, but try to think of
 the users... You're basically letting wait in the cold dark night until
 "someone" comes around with a solution. That solution might be autohotkey,
 or whichever.

 The reality is that Windows isn't as fullfeatured as Linux. The fact dat
 Linux provides this functionality out of the box (not sure I've ever seen
 it on my Ubuntu box, tho) doesn't neccesariy mean that on Windows it can
 be left out, Especially since Windows is by far the most-used OS out
 there.

 On top of that, autohotkey is yet another tool to manage, and another one
 that has to behave well with any other "exotic" applications. Plus is has
 to be portable, because Pidgin is too.
