 The problem with "solutions" that users think are "good enough" and will
 work "until someone gets around to properly implementing" is that no one
 ever bothers to go back and do a proper implementation.  I'm in complete
 agreement with elb here; this patch will never be shipped as-is in
 libpurple.  If Adium's developers wish to patch their libpurple build with
 something we refuse to accept, they're free to do so; they've done it
 before.
