 You also have my vote to fix the bug. It's quite annoying having to change
 the language _every_ time.

 In my personal use case, I use up to four different languages depending on
 the person I'm chatting with. A nice option would be to define the
 language as an attribute inside each of your contacts & stored chatrooms.
 In that way pidgin will remember the language I use when writing to
 contact X and check the spelling accordingly.
