Comment:
Hi chandrakantd. This translation contains a number of errors that I
believe could cause problems with users (possibly the translation would
not be activated, or possibly it would be activated but would cause Pidgin
to crash).
You can see these errors yourself by running the msgfmt command (which is
easy on Linux, might require some effort to install on Windows or Mac OS):
{{{
$ msgfmt -cv brx.po
brx.po:7: warning: header field 'Language' missing in header
brx.po:2254: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does
not match
brx.po:7762: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does
not match
brx.po:8539: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does
not match
brx.po:13812: format specifications in 'msgid_plural' and 'msgstr[0]' for
argument 1 are not the same
brx.po:13819: format specifications in 'msgid_plural' and 'msgstr[0]' for
argument 1 are not the same
brx.po:18260: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does
not match
brx.po:18272: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does
not match
brx.po:18862: format specifications in 'msgid_plural' and 'msgstr[0]' for
argument 1 are not the same
brx.po:19369: number of format specifications in 'msgid' and 'msgstr' does
not match
msgfmt: found 12 fatal errors
3891 translated messages.
}}}
It's important for the "%" substitutions in the translated string to match
the ones in the source string. If you need to, you can reorder parameters
using a special syntax:
https://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/html_node/c_002dformat.html#c_002dformat
Also, you have an account at https://www.transifex.com/ and this is one of
the languages for which you're listed as a coordinator. It would be
helpful for me if you could upload future updates directly to Transifex.
For now I've removed the problematic strings and uploaded it to Transifex
myself. This translation should appear in Pidgin 2.10.10, which should be
released next week.
