 Pidgin shows as "Available" in the buddy list, with a dimmed green dot,
 and a message indicating "Idle...".

 When the client of that buddy is manually ended and restarted, the problem
 is resolved for a while. The condition(s) needed to reproduce this
 software bug reliably are uncertain, but the problem has recurred several
 times.
